The cloud has become part of our everyday life; from online banking through enterprise resource planning applications, you may be using some form of “cloud” based system. Taking these systems and turning them into useful tools for manufacturing is still in its infancy, but it’s becoming more prevalent as the technology, and products, become adapted to the needs of the industrial automation user.
Microsoft and Invensys have joined forces to provide industrial software based on Azure Cloud Technology. We’ll share our vision, and show how incremental steps, such as virtualization, offers you a pathway. Lastly, Rick Moulton of Construction Resources Management will share his experiences using a cloud-based decision support system from SmartGlance, an Invensys endorsed partner solution.

Rob McGreevy, Vice President Product Management, Wonderware & Invensys Operations Management Rob is responsible for defining and executing the Software product strategy for the platform and applications team within Invensys Operations Management. Platform and Applications includes the Wonderware brand HMI and Supervisory, Execution and Operations (MES) as well as Information and Intelligence applications.
Rick Moulton, Supervisor for Plant Systems and Automation, Construction Resources Management Inc. Rick is in charge of the process control systems and IT systems for all of the asphalt plants owned and operated by Northeast Asphalt, Inc. and Payne and Dolan, Inc.
